From Nairobi

The wedding was gorgeous and wonderful and fun and busy--photos to follow. Surprise! Carmel did not become Mrs. Barnhart. She decided to keep her last name so we are to refer to the newlyweds as Dr. and Mrs. Jason Barnhart and Carmel Hill. I'm sure I'll get the hang of this in due course.
I continued on from the wedding in CT to Nairobi, where I've spent the week working with 2 SIL members who are doing Scripture Use research for study programs at Fuller. The results of this research will be especially valuable as we have surprisingly little field research to base our strategies on.
On Monday, we begin a 2 week translation course for 48 translation consultants from all over Africa. This is based on the course book I've been telling you about, which is now in pre-publication draft. The course will familiarize these consultants with this new approach so they can use it to train others. Pray that the ideas would be clearly presented and readily received. Change is often challenging. One key member of staff had to cancel for health reasons, so we are a bit lean on staff for such a large group. We need God's help. Thanks for your prayers.
