Ralph loves watching the Amazing Race. Now it feels like we're living it.
Earlier in January (which seems years ago now) I set out on a 4 week trip knowing I'd need to come home for my mom's funeral at some point. That happened and I did: booking new flights on weak internet from Uganda, being eaten alive by mosquitos for the duration of the multi-hour process. I had to cancel some important meetings in Bangalore, India.
After the funeral, I resumed my trip, going to Nepal where we've just held an excellent trauma healing equipping session. The plan was to go on to Namibia today (Sat) where another trauma healing session was to take place. Early Thursday morning I got a message that that session had been canceled.
Fortunately here in Nepal I have a strong internet connection, and besides the cement mixer outside my window, with many calls and emails and web work, I was able to get new flights and cancel the old ones. I realized I could fly to Bangalore and do those meetings while I'm out this way.
I woke up with a start at 4:30 a.m. (must be my magic hour when my subconscious finally can get through): I sent my old passport with the India visa home with Ralph when I left the funeral.
It appears there's no way to enter India without my old passport with visa, and no way to get it by Sunday. Please pray that I'll figure out the right path through this maze of unforeseen changes! It wears on the nerves, or if you like the Amazing Race, is great adventure.
My mother would say, "This, too, is in God's hands!"
Off to the Pokhara airport to fly to Kathmandu, that much is sure.
Hi Harriet, I was delighted to find She's My Sister's Initiative the other day while trying to locate anyone remotely working in the integrative field of Christianity and mental health, specifically Trauma. Based on my miraculous personal salvation story, I founded Christ-centered Culinary Nutritional Psychology™, the interface of neuroscience, (somatic) psychology, Jesus Christ (theology) and Food/Nutrition- culinary style with a focus on NeuroNutrition to heal the traumatized brain-gut spiritually and physiologically. No one has returned my calls (@American Bible Society, Trauma Institute). I would LOVE to connect with you. Please let me know where to reach you. God Bless and may the Prince of Peace reside in your heart.
