After writing the drama for Lausanne III about the Bible on smart phones, I actually got an IPhone from ABS and can now carry the BIble and a host of commentaries with me in my pocket! It's a life-changer, and I have only had 4 days so far to discover what it can do.
One of the wonders of this new season of my life is that the American Bible Society (ABS) is responding to the need for trauma healing and Scripture in the Great Lakes area of East Africa with a program so comprehensive it may make everything we've done so far look like preparation. This week, I'll be in Nairobi with leaders from Bible Societies in the Great Lakes, churches, and other partner organizations to work through what they feel would best meet their needs and when and where and how. Please pray that God would bless this meeting as a significant step in relieving the suffering in the region, especially in Congo (DRC).
On my way, I got to stop over in Brussels to visit Mr Max and Mel and Johnvir. As we sat at a restaurant, Max entertained himself by playing a game on his dad's IPhone. At 2, he knows more about IPhones than I do, his little fingers expanding the picture and compressing it, turning the phone for landscape view, etc. He hasn't even finished learning to talk yet, nor is he fully potty trained! what a sweetie Max is!
