Up and down in unexpected places

Sometimes life's unexpected twists and turns happen in the most unexpected places. Last Friday, Dallas was shut-down with a record-of-all-time 12" of snow with people out on the roads skidding and sliding all over the place. I was in the safety of my home. I was just getting up from the table in the most ordinary of ways when I suddenly found myself on the floor--in pain. My foot simply gave out on me.

As it turns out, my foot is sprained, not broken. This is very good news as I have another trip coming up March 3rd where I'm leading one course after another after another in 3 different locations in Africa. At this point, I'm able to hobble around the house (in some pain), but the doctor thinks I should able to make the trip. Please pray. In the meantime, Ralph has been providing top-notch, loving care. And his cooking has improved 100% over the last years!

Finalizing book manuscripts to submit them for publication is a lot like delivering a baby. I'm in the throes of it again with the translation course manual. There is still one rough area, but thankfully I'm getting excellent feedback from some folks. I will spare you the complications, but do pray this baby would be delivered soon! It's overdue.

As I travel, I'm now armed with a flip video camera, and hope to acquire all the skills necessary to get good video clips. While in PNG, the devotional speaker Hughes showed us videos of how crazy happy dogs are when their masters arrive home. Then he said that's how excited God is about us. Many of us have not really experienced anyone that excited about us, but God is. Here's a clip with Hughes.
